Mahesh Kulharia, PhD

My research is driven by a wish to understand why all life forms on Earth are the way they are: how molecular structure, biological function and evolutionary history connect.

I specialise in structural bioinformatics, with interests in molecular recognition, protein activity modulation, graph theory and optimisation algorithms. My work brings together computational methods, molecular simulations and collaborative biological research.

I trained in biotechnology at Madurai Kamaraj University, completed doctoral research at the Technical University of Dortmund and Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology, and undertook postdoctoral research at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht.
